Welcome to Nova Please!

This is a newsletter about health, culture, and technology—but honestly, it’s about whatever weird thing I can’t stop thinking about right now.

I try to make sense of big, messy systems. Expect shitposts with rigorous analysis. Sometimes it’s a deep dive, sometimes it’s just me following a thought to see where it leads.

If that sounds fun, stick around. I have no idea where this is going, but that’s never stopped me before.

Who is Nova?

Nova Bradford is an interdisciplinary scholar, writer, and professional weirdo working at the crossroads of science, art, and society. Her work takes many forms, ranging from academic research to speculative fiction to stage performance. She holds a BA in Psychology and an MSW from the University of Minnesota and is currently pursuing a PhD at Stanford where she researches healthcare and artificial intelligence.

Nova is also a trained stage actor and can frequently be found performing standup comedy or producing guerrilla theater productions in San Francisco under the mononymous stage name NOVA. Her previous roles have included working as a psychotherapist, health services researcher, and policy advisor. She’s always writing about something, usually at the intersection of culture, technology, and health. Whether it's through the lens of scholarship, therapy, writing, or performance art, Nova uses narrative as a tool to ignite imagination and spark dialogue.

Somewhere between a white paper and a fever dream. I write about health, technology, society, and whatever else is keeping me up at night.
